A student, a teacher, a hula dancer
I was born and raised in Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu. Currently, I am an undergraduate student at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and recently got accepted into the Second Language Studies Master's Program. In furthering my education, I plan to pursue my professional interests, which include second language learning and teaching, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics. Aside from being a student, I am a PPT at Ali'iolani Elementary School, where I work with children ages 8-10 years old. There, I have learned how demanding teaching children can be, but also how rewarding the experience is.
My personal interests keep me busy during my spare time. I have been dancing hula for Hula Hui O Kapunahala since 2007 and continue to love every moment of being a part of this 'ohana (family). I also enjoy travelling, whether it be to another one of the Hawaiian islands or to a different country like Japan. The unique foods, sights, and cultural history are only a part of the reason why exploring the world is so amazing.
